“More than any other part of America, the South stands apart…Thousands of Northerners and foreigners have migrated to it…but Southerners they will not become. For this is still a place where you must have either been born or have ‘people’ there, to feel it is your native ground. “Natives will tell you this. They are proud to be Americans, but they are also proud to be Virginians, South Carolinians, Tennesseeans, Mississippians and Texans. But they are conscious of another loyalty too, one that transcends the usual ties of national patriotism and state pride. It is a loyalty to a place where habits are strong and memories are long. If those memories could speak, they would tell stories of a region powerfully shaped by its history and determined to pass it on to future generations.”—
“True Southern Belles will tell you that on their list of favorite things you’ll always find: Dixie cocktail parties, hand written notes, well dressed gents and of course wearing their grandmother’s pearls!!”—
“This is an important lesson to remember when you’re having a bad day, a bad month, or a shitty year. Things will change: you won’t feel this way forever. And anyway, sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are the ones your soul needs most. I believe you can’t feel real joy unless you’ve felt heartache. You can’t have a sense of victory unless you know what it means to fail. You can’t know what it’s like to feel holy until you know what it’s like to feel really fucking evil. And you can’t be birthed again until you’ve died.”—Kelly Cutrone (via shetakesflight)
"It’s been a long time since I came around It’s been a long time but I’m back in town And this time I’m not leaving without you You taste like whiskey when you kiss me oh I’ll give anything again to be your baby doll Yeah this time I’m not leaving without you.
You say sit back down where you belong In the corner of my bar with your high heels on Sit back down on the couch Were we made love the first time And you said to me there’s
Something, something about this place Something, ‘bout lonely nights And my lipstick on your face Something something about My cool Nebraska guy Yeah something about Baby you and I”
“A guy and a girl can be just friends, but at one point or another, they will fall for each other… Maybe temporarily, maybe at the wrong time, maybe too late, or maybe forever.”—Dave Matthews (via life-love-laughter)
I literally can’t focus on ANYTHING except all the fun things that are coming up in my life! To hit the highlights….
Pharmacy Party Weekend (this weekend—all my favs are coming back in town and its basically a big weekend of parties, debauchery, day drinking, and laughs).
Lady Gaga concert with two of my best friends (okay…admittedly I’m not her biggest fan…but what girl passes up a fun weeknight out of town in an awesome city with great friends and live music? not this one!)
My very best friend in the whole entire world’s Bachelorette Weekend in New Orleans! I haven’t been to New Orleans since high school, and I’m guessing there is more fun to be had then when you’re on Bourbon Street with your parents!
Weddings of 3 more very good friends this summer (another one got married just over a week ago). I’m looking forward to lots of fun with the girls, dancing the night away….and kinda dreading finding a date….
SUMMER. We got a new Mastercraft Wake Boat and I can’t wait to take it out on the water this summer. Its going to be a blast
Playing Golf and Tennis with my mom and dad after work
In 28 days. 28 DAYS I will officially be halfway done with my PharmD degree! I’m about to crest the mountain and start making my way downhill!
Needless to say, I’m unable to focus on school work or anything that doesn’t involve making awesome plans.
